KISU-FM Adds ALL THINGS CONSIDERED to Line-up!!!

All Things Considered

At 5 p.m. EDT on May 3, 1971, the first edition of All Things Considered went on the air. In the more than three decades since, almost everything about the program has changed — the hosts and producers, the length of the program, the equipment used, even the audience. But one thing remains the same: the determination to get the day's big stories on the air, and to bring them alive through sound and voice.

For two hours every weekday, All Things Considered hosts Robert Siegel, Michele Norris and Melissa Block present the program's trademark mix of news, interviews, commentaries, reviews and offbeat features.

The program rings with the disparate voices of its commentators, from veteran analyst Daniel Schorr and storyteller Kevin Kling to poet Andrei Codrescu. It hums with the distinctive music that threads between reports — music collected in the online programAll Songs Considered. And by the timeAll Things Considered marked its 30th anniversary on the air, the program had earned many of journalism's highest honors, including the Peabody, duPont and Overseas Press Club awards.

In 1977, All Things Consideredexpanded to seven days a week with one-hour news magazines Saturday and Sunday evenings.

KISU-FM began broadcasting All Things Considered on September 8th, 2008. The program includes local news breaks at 4 and 32 minutes past the hours of the 4 & 5 o'clock hours.  We look forward to a very positive response from the community.

Send me an email to comment about the program to kisu91@gmail.com.

Thank you and we hope you join us during KISU's fall pledge drive!!!

Big Show Pictures

The KISU-FM/Poky Free Bikes Big Show seemed to have gone very smoothly this Weekend. Thank you very much if you were. It was a terrific time from the late afternoon until midnight. Another factor in the success of the show were the folks at Portneuf Valley Brewing. It was an ideal location and the weather was as good as one could hope for this early in May.
Furthermore, it was the best attended KISU Big Show in its 6th year as a music festival/fund-raiser.

If you can't remember last year's big show, you're not alone. In fact the show went on a 2 year hiatus until 2008 when Levi Montana Keller, host of KISU's Beat City Radio began planning for the Really Big Show's revival along with Jeremias Pink of Poky Free Bikes, and Chenoa Roseberry of KISU-FM. Many people from both KISU and/or Poky Free Bikes donated a countless number of hours, credit them also for the successes of the 2008 Really Big Show.

The Performances at the Really Big Show this year came from, yet again, a diverse mix of local and western-regional musicians. They were as follows:

Jessica McAleese- Pocatello, ID

Low Red Land- San Francisco, CA

Libbie Linton- Logan, UT

Future of the Ghost- Salt Lake City, UT

War Bonnet- Pocatello, ID

A. W. Feldt- Pocatello, ID

Finn Riggins, Hailey, ID

About the survey

Hi
Welcome to yet another growing angle of the KISU-FM Community. In the previous post I layed-out a copy of the newest KISU survey. I've create it as a tool for gathering the programing thoughts of our community, which now stretches north past Idahofalls.

Just so we're clear. The survey will be put into a form that requires one breif click of a mouse to log your choice. I personally can't wait to begin gathering programing preferences from station faithful, such as yourself.

While the final version has not been formatted quit yet, one may simply copy the survey and paste it in a Word file. Then, simply let your choices be known by underlining the answer of your choice. After you have completed and saved the survey, send it to kisu91@gmail.com.

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit us/me here on kisu91.blogspot.com. Please visit us often!

Take the KISU Programming Survey

This is a preview of the Survey that will be arriving at kisu.org very soon. We wanted to make it short and quick, but we wanted to choose our questions very carefully as to maximize the valuable time that you have so graciously given to find this unpublished draft. This will be the first KISU survey ever to be given the public or station members.
Students at ISU have taken surveys in the past regarding KISU-FM
